A new court date’s been set for the grand courtroom videogame beatdown of the millennium, aka the legal battle between Activision, ousted Infinity Ward heads Jason West/Vince Zampella, and their new patrons at Electronic Arts. The case will now go to trial May 29, reports Game Informer (opens in new tab), revised from an earlier date of May 7 which was postponed at Activision’s request.

Earlier this year, a judge dismissed (opens in new tab) additional fraud charges brought by West/Zampella against the House o’Kotick. Note that the case’s initial court date was May 23 of 2011, giving you some idea just how many holdups, timeouts, rainchecks, postponements and miscellaneous legal acts of heel-dragging it’s gone through – and may, for all we know, continue to do. Still, when this does go ahead, it ought to be worth following by anyone who likes Modern Warfare but wishes it had more folk in suits yelling “Objection!” That’s all of you, right?
