Bradley Cooper could star in The Crow remake

In a totally unexpected bit of casting speculation, it seems that Bradley Cooper could be starring in Juan Carlos Fresnadillo’s remake of The Crow .

The pretty-boy actor, whose fame sky-rocketed after The Hangover , is in early talks to star in the remake according to The Hollywood Reporter.

He’d obviously play the rock star who seeks revenge from beyond the grave, after being murdered while intervening in an attack on his girlfriend.

While there’s yet to be an official announcement regarding Cooper and 28 Weeks Later director Fresnadillo’s talks, sources claim that they “shared a vision for the character and film.”

The Crow does seem to be racing through development, with Fresnadillo only confirmed as director last week. If Cooper’s name does become officially attached, expect the movie to be rushed into production pronto.

It’s a little difficult to imagine Cooper in the character’s gothic vigilante incarnation, but hopefully the role will give him a chance to prove his range beyond ‘slick ladies’ man’.

If he is cast, it’ll be a blow to fans hoping he’d play Matt Murdock in the forthcoming Daredevil reboot.

The first adaptation of James O’Barr’s comic-book arrived in 1994, and will always be associated with the tragic on-set death of star Brandon Lee (though that didn’t stop it from scoring three inferior sequels).
