Superman may have flapped his cape and flown away from Plano, Illinois but Zack Snyder’s Man Of Steel has landed not too far away in Chicago.
A local ABC7 news team has already visited the set (see footage below).
However, according to eyewitnesses filming didn’t take place today as the channel reported it would earlier in the morning.
“I talked to one of the crew guys, who said they’re setting everything up tonight and tomorrow to start filming tomorrow for sure,” user Charlie Allahverdi told the unofficial Superman: Man Of Steel Facebook fan group (opens in new tab) .
He also confirmed there were “no celebs yet” on the set.
Filming takes place in the Windy City for the next 10 days, then it’s off to Vancouver to complete the shoot.
The Chicago Board of Trade building will apparently make its second superhero movie appearance, doubling as the external view of the Daily Planet . It previously appeared as Wayne Tower in Batman Begins .
Superman: Man Of Steel opens June 2013.
