Another day, another superhero TV show greenlit with TV Line (opens in new tab) reporting that CBS has snapped up Supergirl, ordering a full series off the back of the recent pilot.
Executive produced by Greg Berlanti, the man behind Arrow and The Flash over on sister network The CW, the new show will follow the adventures of Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl. Having been concealing her powers for years, the series picks with the character at the age of 24, when she has decided to stop hiding and become a fully fledged hero.
Melissa Benoist will return in the title role, with support coming from the likes of Mechad Brooks, Calista Flockhart, Chyler Leigh. Excitingly, cameos have already been confirmed for Dean Cain and original Supergirl, Helen Slater.
CBS is set to confirm the show’s air date next week, when it unveils its full schedule for the 2015 / 2016 season.
