There’s no escaping the mines. Last week Minecraft’s Xbox 360 Edition came out on top of the Xbox Live Activity Charts for the first time ever, surpassing heavy hitters like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and FIFA 13.
The charts measure global unique users playing a game in any given week, in this case for the week starting October 15. Minecraft’s closest XBLA competition was Telltale Game’s The Walking Dead.
Minecraft is the greatest selling XBLA game ever, with 4 million sales reported as of the end of September. The long-awaited “Adventure Update,” which graced the original PC version nearly a year ago, hit the console last week.
Meanwhile, Minecraft: Pocket Edition is No. 1 on Android’s Google Play store and No. 9 on the iOS App Store’s lists of best-selling paid apps. And we’re still looking for Herobrine.
