Last year we heard Austin’s Replay Games was preparing Leisure Suit Larry to recieve the HD treatment (opens in new tab). But when you’ve been a fortysomething sad-sack for some 25 years, things don’t just spring right back into action without a little time and coaxing, you know. So now Replay’s jumping on the Kickstarter bandwagon (the studio’s words (opens in new tab), not ours) and offering you – yes, you, sitting right there with the spare $5,000 cluttering up your living room – the chance to appear in-game in exchange for funding.
Pledge rewards for contributing to Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards: Reloaded range from $15, which gets you a download link when the game’s finished, all the way up to absurd $50,000 rewards involving Las Vegas weekends and your name as an Easter egg where Sierra founder Ken Williams’ would once have gone. You can even offer $5000 for the honor of appearing in-game and railing against the ills of contraception! We’d like to see your cute crowd-funded indie adventure do that. (Don’t actually do that: have fun but stay safe, no glove no love, mmkay, etc).
