Ghosted review

Hot on Screwed’s heels comes another Brit-flick about life behind bars, this time viewing Porridge from the lags’ perspective.

John Lynch is Jack, a model prisoner who, in taking a shine to newbie Paul (Martin Compston), sets himself on a collision course with wing psycho Craig Parkinson.

Numerous stabbings and one shower rape later, hidden connections come to light which let Craig Viveiros’ slow-burner reach a moderately powerful climax.

It’s no Scum or Shawshank, but on its own modest terms, Ghosted is an engrossing watch that wrings new blood from old clichés.
