Dwayne Johnson has posted another image from the set of Brett Ratner’s Hercules adaptation, giving some impression of the period detail on show.
“Our Hercules set created by award winning designer Jean-Vincent Puzos w/ great detail,” says Johnson via his official Twitter feed. “I sit in awe.”
Looks like boiled leather and straw-roofed huts are the order of the day, while Johnson appears to have had his distinctive tattoos thoroughly disguised for the role.
The new film is based upon the graphic novel Hercules: The Thracian Wars , in which a jaded Hercules finds new purpose in a quest to rescue an ailing king and his daughter from a cruel warlord.
Directed by Ratner and co-starring Ian McShane, John Hurt and Joseph Fiennes, Hercules: The Thracian Wars will open in the US on 25 July 2014, with a UK date to be confirmed.
