David S. Goyer has been talking about future DC TV and movie outings, and how these various might eventually begin to knit together.
But while the screenwriter admits that the goal is to create a more layered and interconnected universe, it may take a while to build yet…
“I mean, it’s too early,” says Goyer. “I know that Warner Bros. would love to make their universe more cohesive. There have been a lot of general conversations about that, but it’s really, really early.”
“I’m not sure,” he continues. “Marvel has had enormous success, but I’m not sure that everybody should try to emulate them either. It’s just been vague conversations so far.”
Meanwhile, Warner is refusing to budge on its Batman vs. Superman release date, which currently puts it on a collision course with Captain America 3 .
“It doesn’t make a lot of sense for two huge superhero films to open on the same date but there is a lot of time between now and then,” says Warner’s president of domestic distribution, Dan Fellman.
“However,” he continues, “at this time, we are not considering a change of date for Batman vs Superman .” Fighting talk! We’ll have to wait and see which film budges before 6 May 2015…
