Daniel Radcliffe gets spooked in The Woman In Black trailer

At the moment, it’s difficult to imagine Daniel Radcliffe as anything other than Harry Potter, but this new trailer for The Woman In Black puts him in a whole new light. Candle light, to be precise.

Set in the Victorian era, James Watkins’ adaptation of the famous novel stars Radcliffe as Arthur Kipps, a young lawyer who travels to a remote village to settle arrangements for a recently deceased client.

It’s in this ridiculously creepy house, full of old dolls covered in cobwebs, that he discovers the vengeful ghost of a woman scorned. Should have been obvious, really.

The trailer features some mute clips of the film’s more tense moments, with standard creepy music and a poem about the Woman of the title (read by a young girl) as soundtrack.

When thinking of Daniel’s big screen career, the first thing that comes to mind for many people is ‘the boy who lived’. Will The Woman In Black change that to ‘the man who can act’?

The Woman In Black opens on 10 February 2012.
