Arnold Schwarzenegger has barely been out of political office for five minutes, but the former Governor of California has been lining up new movie projects in a machine-like fashion.
The big news last week was that the Austrian Oak is set to appear in Justin Lin’s franchise-reviving Terminator 5 , though according to Vulture, that won’t be his next movie.
Apparently he has picked drama Cry Macho as his next acting venture. The project, which will be looking for funding at Cannes, has Brad Furman ( The Lincoln Lawyer ) attached as director.
The movie will be based on a 1975 novel by N. Richard Nash, with the plot centring on Arnie’s washed-up horse trainer, who agrees to kidnap his boss’s kid from his ex-wife.
It’s likely to be a character-based piece in the vein of A Perfect World , rather than a Commando throwback (damn).
Schwarzenegger also has animated TV series The Governator in the pipeline.
