The Star Wars Battlefront beta begins October 8

The Star Wars Battlefront (opens in new tab) Beta will run from October 8 to October 12, EA and DICE announced today. All PS4, Xbox One, and PC players will be free to download the beta and try out Walker Assault on Hoth (complete with playable Darth Vader (opens in new tab)), Drop Zone on Sullust (opens in new tab), and the Stranded on Tatooine survival mission in two-player co-op.

Players will be able to advance up to level 5 and unlock items with in-game credits, though no progress will carry forward to the full release. Beta players can try out the Star Wars Battlefront “companion experience” – which includes the Base Command strategic card game – via browser during the beta. Dedicated apps will hit Android and iOS in time for Star Wars Battlefront’s release date on November 17.

EA says the beta will take up roughly 7GB of storage on PS4 and Xbox One and 11GB on PC. Don’t forget that you can start playing the full version of Battlefront five days early (opens in new tab) if you’re an EA Access subscriber on Xbox One.
