Spurious Awards

Short and sweet this week, but the zombie apocalypse is very, very sweet

EXCUSE OF THE WEEK
SFX apologises for the fact that Spurious is either late or early this week (depending on how you look at it) and a tad short, but the dog ate our homework, a meteor landed on the car and a man from the future came back and killed us all as babies. Oh yeah, and Easter and Royal Weddings, and people taking three days off in-between, blah, blah, blah… Anyway, here’s what we cobbled together.

BOLDEST EASTER PROGRAMMING OF THE WEEK

The BBC seemed to go all avant garde with its Easter programming on Saturday. Instead of the usual dramatised versions of the Bible story, the Corporation gave us a very different version of the Easter story. At least, that’s what we think it was. STREET POET OF THE WEEK
Ex Doctor Who script editor Chris Bidmead during the Frontios DVD commentary: “A real steal from Nigel Kneale.”

ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE OF THE WEEK
Take a gander at this trailer for the new zombie level for the Escalation Map pack for Call Of Duty: Black Ops . There are a few faces you might recognise (we don’t want to spoil the surprise). And the vampire King is the cameo to beat all cameos.

POSTERS OF THE WEEK
Why are we waiting? Joss Whedon’s horror movie Cabin In The Woods has been subject to no end of delays, as someone over at the film’s official Twitter feed decided to acknowledge:
