Vampire show True Blood has enlisted some Batty help in the form of Blade Runner actor Rutger Hauer (we apologise, truly, truly apologise for that gag).

According to TV Line , the legend that is Hauer – whose massive list of sci-fi, horror and fantasy credits include The Hitcher , Wedlock , Salute Of The Jugger , Batman Begins , Ladyhawke , Tenth Kingdom , Smallville and Alias – will play Macklyn, a mysterious and sinister figure with deep ties to Sookie and Jason (hmmm… we won’t spoil anything for those watching at UK pace, but what’s the betting it must be this guy ?).

True Blood ‘s sixth season is slated to premiere in the States in June. Season five is currently airing in the UK on FX on Monday nights at 10pm.
