Maisie Williams wants to do “justice” to her final Game of Thrones scenes

With the end in sight, it’s hard not to cast your mind beyond Game of Thrones season 7 (opens in new tab) and towards its ultimate finale and, as it turns out, Maisie Williams is doing that too. Here’s what she has to stay about Arya Stark’s eventual send-off.

Speaking to ET (opens in new tab) at last night’s Screen Actors Guild awards, Maisie Williams seemed upbeat about her character’s final run, stating, “I’m just trying to do the last few scenes that I have justice,” before adding, “I’m just trying to shape Arya the way that I have been so far and give her a nice arc to end with – and hope the people are happy with it.”

Should we be getting worried that Maisie Williams is talking up her ‘last few scenes’? She’s staying ‘til the end… right? Even if she doesn’t say bye bye in season 7, how many happy endings are there in Westeros?

Williams, though, is looking towards the future trying to shake off the “safety blanket” of Game of Thrones and being in a position to “really make bold decisions.” She’s given her formative years to the HBO show and it will soon be time to shed the face of Arya and assume a new role but, fear not, Arya Stark is sticking round for a little while longer.

Game of Thrones season 7 will debut this summer on HBO in the US and Sky Atlantic in the UK.
