Just Cause 3 spirals into chaos even if you dont push a button

Most open-world games run like little clockwork dioramas, traffic proceeding calmly and pedestrians walking quietly, until the player character comes along and messes everything up. But chaos bubbles so deep in the core of Just Cause 3 (opens in new tab) that, even when you never push a button, it can’t help but boil over into anarchy. Here’s the proof:

The fact that Rockstar makes you fall off moving cars in GTA 5 (opens in new tab), and that Rico Rodriguez can end up accidentally highway surfing in Just Cause 3, really says something about open-world priorities (not implying it’s a bad thing, I’m just glad we have both sides of the spectrum represented). Hopefully Avalanche Studios doesn’t plan on patching that out in its upcoming slate of updates (opens in new tab).
