“It’s dangerous for everybody involved” – Tyrion has a warning for Game of Thrones new power couple

You didn’t need to be the Three-Eyed Raven to see the union between two major characters in the Game of Thrones season 7 finale (opens in new tab) coming, but that doesn’t mean one actor in particular – that would be Peter Dinklage – has some rough and ready thoughts about the relationship. Oh, and they definitely don’t sound like a warning from Tyrion when taken out of context. Nope. Not at all.

“It’s Game of Thrones, there’s a long history of romance not ending well on this show,” teases Tyrion actor Dinklage in a HBO behind-the-scenes video discussing Daenerys and Jon’s, ahem, impromptu bedroom meeting.

When coupled with Tyrion’s brooding look of despair upon, I guess, finding out the news – those boats must have thin walls – it sure adds up to a chilling warning. Heck, even Bran’s actor Isaac Hempstead-Wright chimes in with a message that “Inevitably, Game of Thrones will tear us apart once more.”

If that wasn’t enough, Dinklage adds: “It’s dangerous for everybody involved. I’m sure it is good for both of them in the moment, but you don’t even get the relief of how beautiful it could be or should be.”

And that’s without diving into the murky depths of the whole incest thing… Welp, if Game of Thrones has taught us nothing else it’s that love is awful. Thanks, guys.

There’s plenty more Game of Thrones stuff where that came from: check out what Kit Harington thinks the show’s final season is going to be like (opens in new tab) (hint: they’re doubling down on the murder), and this week’s big Thrones question: Is it over for Jaime and Cersei? (opens in new tab)
