What are the biggest changes for Fortnite Season 3

Fortnite Season 3 has arrived, and the new theme is that everyone is Vibin’. This means there’s a party going on across the island, with many areas receiving a brightly colored paint job and almost all signs of the previous Imagined Order occupation have been removed. Everyone is having fun in Fortnite, and even the wildlife has become less aggressive – or at least easier to tame so they work with you rather than against! If you want to know what’s new, then here are the biggest changes in Fortnite Season 3.

There’s a fresh mushroom biome to explore

You’ll notice the southwest sector of the island has changed significantly for Fortnite Season 3, and there are now giant mushrooms sprouting up everywhere. This has event affected existing landmarks, such as the Tacos restaurant at Greasy Grove which has been torn into sections at different heights. Look out for small glowing mushrooms, as you can bounce on those to increase your shields several times before their charge expires.

This area also includes the Reality Falls POI with the giant Reality Tree growing from it, which is being fed by the energy flowing along the rivers from the Fortnite Zero Point submerged nearby in Loot Lake. Grab Fortnite Reality Seeds from this region and plant them in a location of your choice, then you can grow your own sapling and harvest it for loot.

You can get around the island in many new ways

Fortnite Season 3 has seen the return of Fortnite Ballers, which have been dusted off and rolled back out into service. You’ll find these around the Rave Cave area, which also features a rollercoaster track you can ride them around, along with a Fortnite wind tunnel at The Screwballer to enter. Fortnite wolves and boars can now be ridden around like big furry tractors, so all you need to do to tame them now is jump on their backs and away you go. Fortnite Grapple Gloves offer another method of traversing the island quickly, as you can swing between obstacles and increase your speed as you chain moves together.

There are plenty of new characters to unlock

Separately within the battle pass we also have Fortnite Indiana Jones, who you’ll be able to start unlocking in early July 2022.
