Instead of receiving a single list of assignments each week, as we’ve been used to in previous seasons, we now have various different sets to work through including the Fortnite Maya’s challenges. As one of the Agents making up the main cast of Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 (opens in new tab), you can select a host of options for Maya’s appearance to customise her look completely – but do note that each choice you make for your character will become a permanent fixture, and Fortnite players are not happy about locking in choices for the new Maya skin (opens in new tab). How to find the Fortnite Maya’s challenges
To get to the Fortnite Maya’s challenges, you can go through the Upgrade Vault door in the top right of the Battle Pass hub screen then select Build Your Maya. You can also see the current challenges available by selecting the Challenge Table in your HQ and moving to the Maya’s Challenges tab, which will show markers on the map for any location-specific challenge that may come up.
Fortnite Maya’s challenges week 1
Fortnite Maya’s challenges week 1 – Hairstyle
- Achieve AR Specialist by dealing 250 damage with Assault Rifles in a single match (5)
This should be fairly easy to complete in Team Rumble mode – grab yourself an assault rifle and start racking up hits on opponents until you see the AR Specialist award pop up on your screen, then repeat this in five matches.

Fortnite Maya’s challenges week 2
Fortnite Maya’s challenges week 2 – Tattoos
- Place top 20 in a match (5)
You’ll need to enter Solo, Duos, or Squads for this one – if you’re struggling to reach that final 20, then dropping into Squads even as a solo player should help you out, because there are only around 25 teams to start with so you only need to outlast a few of them.

Fortnite Maya’s challenges week 3
Fortnite Maya’s challenges week 3 – Sleeves
- Achieve Pistol Specialist by dealing 150 damage with Pistols in a single match (5)
Another challenge that shouldn’t be too difficult to clear in Team Rumble, so pick up a pistol then get in close quarters with opponents until you reach enough damage to receive the Pistol Specialist award, and repeat five times.

Fortnite Maya’s challenges week 4
Fortnite Maya’s challenges week 4 – Boots
- Earn Bronze Battle Medals by getting an Elim in Solo, Duos, or Squads (5)
The difficulty for the challenge has helpfully been toned down now, as originally it was asking for Gold Battle Medals by making eight Elims in a single match, which didn’t seem to be registering even when achieved. Only one elimination is required per match now, which anyone should be able to manage in Team Rumble mode.

Fortnite Maya’s challenges week 5
Fortnite Maya’s challenges week 5 – Shirt Colors
- Achieve Shotgun Specialist by dealing 250 damage with Shotguns in a single match (5)
We should be getting familiar with these challenges by now, so another weapon specialist task isn’t much of a surprise. Head in to Team Rumble (or another mode, if you have the confidence) then rack up 250 damage with shotguns in five different matches.

Fortnite Maya’s challenges week 6
Fortnite Maya’s challenges week 6 – Vest
- Get Silver Survival Medals by surviving until 25 players remain (5)
To work towards this challenge you’ll need to hit up one of the Solo/Duos/Squads modes, as these placement medals won’t unlock in Team Rumble as it has respawns. The easiest way to survive until 25 players remain is to stay out of the way, either by keeping to the edges of the storm circle or finding a place to hide.

Fortnite Maya’s challenges week 7
Fortnite Maya’s challenges week 7 – Helmet
- Achieve SMG Specialist by dealing 150 damage with SMGs in a single match (5)
As with previous similar challenges, the easiest way to rack up 150 damage with SMGs is to grab one in Team Rumble mode then get up close and personal with your opponents, then repeat in five matches.

Fortnite Maya’s challenges week 8
Fortnite Maya’s challenges week 8 – Pants Color
- Get Silver Scavenger Medals by searching Chests, Llamas, or Supply Drops (5)
To get a Silver Scavenger medal, you need to search eight chests, llamas, or supply drops in a match. Dropping in to a built up area away from other players, especially in Team Rumble, should give you ample opportunity to open eight chests, and if you find a llama or supply drop as well then that’s a bonus.

Fortnite Maya’s challenges week 9
Fortnite Maya’s challenges week 9 – Face Paint
- Outlast 500 opponents (500)
This final challenge may sound a little daunting at first, but if you’re not used to reaching the endgame of matches then there is a simple way to outlast opponents fast. Start a Solo match, jump from the battle bus late then immediately open your glider and drift towards the middle of the island. When the first storm circle appears, glide towards the middle of it then land on top of a tree where few players will look for you. Often you’ll get down to the final 10 or so players before you even have to move, so it won’t take long to outlast 500 opponents this way.

- Complete all 9 challenges in Maya’s Challenges to unlock
By completing all nine of the Fortnite Maya’s challenges you’ll unlock the Scarf option, with a choice of 14 default colors or any custom color of your design.
